Lead by Moore MedTech Ltd, this project aims to develop and manufacture PROTECT – a safe, innovative 222nm far-UVC light fixture installed in air handling units to destroy COVID-19 found in exhaled microdroplets in indoor environments.
Free Running Buildings lead on:
- The development of Discrete Event Simulation (DES) modelling to examine the occupants’ flows within public areas and to identify COVID-19 infection hotspots
- Utilising model findings to support the implementation of PROTECT
- Developing a novel method to assemble 222nm far-UVC light into a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system
- Prototype testing within a selected public area
